Robert Hamilton set up Instant Offices Ltd in May 1999, to amalgamate a fragmented sector into one online marketplace. Robert recognised the demand from occupiers for one source of data on the serviced office sector and funded the service by persuading the vast majority of serviced office operators to pay a commission for the introduction of new business. Instant Offices has grown organically since 1999, employs 25 people and has assisted over 40,000 companies worldwide. Instant Offices has also established regional offices in New York, Sydney, Paris, Munich and recently in South Africa.
It works with over 5000 different business centre operators and has partnerships with the majority of conventional property advisors.
The company has also developed two separate divisions. The first markets surplus "Turnkey" office space for Corporate occupiers, the second provides web design services to property companies.
Organic Growth to Exponential Growth
Patricia Bacon - Commercial Director of Instant Offices - wanted to get some external help to develop the staff particularly in the area of proactive sales skills. Patricia explains, “We initially had reservations about the knowledge of SBR’s consultants within the serviced office market. However, following a face-to-face meeting with the trainer prior to the course, we ironed out any concerns and it was soon very apparent that over 90% of the High Performance Sales Habits course was exactly what Instant Offices was looking for to develop our staff.” A custom course was developed with the look and feel both Rob and Patricia were happy with.
Rob commented after the course “Our aim ultimately was to increase sales, but at the same time increase the moral, efficiency and drive of the team. Following the course, the ‘buzz’ in the office was noticeable and the new proactive business habits that had been learnt on the course were in place and working extremely well.”

Patricia noted, “It is excellent to have a common positive language in the office so that everyone can communicate their goals and targets and schedule a lot more effectively. The individual team members have taken ownership of their own targets and time management. This has made managing the team even more fun and enjoyable”.
